Double R Productions Helps Spread the Word about NAMI!

“In Our Own Voice” is a public education program developed by the National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI) that gives people with a mental illness the opportunity to talk about their personal struggles and share their experiences of transformation and recovery. Double R Productions teamed up with NAMI to produce a new IOOV presentation video that will help presenters explain the program to others. Double R Productions, associate producer Megan Kimball traveled to Orlando, Florida and Baltimore, Maryland to interview IOOV presenters about their experiences with a mental illness. In addition to the presentation video, Double R Productions produced a promotional video and three individual web pieces that highlighted different IOOV presenters.

Double R Productions is also working with the NAMIWalks Program for the third year in a row. Double R Productions is creating both a Public Service Announcement and an inspirational video supporting NAMI. Production manager, Claudio Guglielmelli and Megan Kimball traveled to Des Moines, Iowa in early October to capture the excitement of the walk and also to interview NAMIWalk participants. NamiWalks is the organizations largest fundraising program, where NAMI teams around the country participate in local fundraising walks, including cities such as San Francisco, New York City, Boston, and many others. Producing highlight videos of the Walks every year has greatly contributed to NAMI’s fundraising goals.
