Double R "weaves" tale for Textile Museum
Double R Productions is taking members and friends of The
Textile Museum on a visual journey through 19th Century Asia to 21st
Century Washington, DC. The common thread: Colors of the Oasis: Central
Asian Ikats, now on exhibit at the TM. Using thousands of photos, Double
R’s superior editor Michael Gionis created a time lapse to illustrate
the museum staff’s behind-the-scenes work on these 200 historic ikats.
Produced by Double R President Rosemary Reed and coordinated by Double
R’s Catherine Baum, the annual fund video features the museum’s director
and board president requesting donations in front of the colorful
display. Reed, Baum and Director of Photography Gino Bruno received
assistance on the shoot from Double R interns Kate Burnett and Paul
Jamali, who operated TelePrompTer. The video will be emailed to the
museum’s contacts this holiday season to promote its annual fundraising
effort.
