Double R Creates The Arts & Tell for CAGW!
For Immediate Release
April 4, 2005
Washington, DC
Double R Productions is working with The Cultural Alliance
of Greater Washington (CAGW) and Arlington Independent Media (AIM) to produce
a new television show called The Arts Show & Tell. The program
will be a half-hour show with two segments in each episode. The first show
will air April 5th at 7:00 pm, on AIM and will showcase the Kathy Harty Gray
Dance Theatre and the Washington Bach Consort. The second episode will feature
The Textile Museum and Jane Franklin Dance Company, with both of these segments
produced by Double R. "Community television is a great way
for arts organizations to reach a wider audience," says Eileen Rappoport,
Cultural Alliance Deputy Director and developer of the show.
Double R Productions and Arlington Independent Media produced
the two segments for the pilot episode. The first segment, by Double
R, features the Kathy Harty Gray Dance Theatre, which is dedicated
to preserving, advancing and sharing classic American Modern Dance. AIM produced
the second segment for the Washington Bach Consort, which is Washington's
premier Baroque chorus and orchestra.
Double R's Rosemary Reed oversees the entire process and
makes sure things go smoothly. Cheryl Ryan (staff producer in training),
writes, shoots and edits the segments, with the help of intern production
assistants, Colette Baldwin, Hanna Hargrave, Jennifer Lane, Chelsea LeMar,
Andrea Seeley and Nicole Zwick, who assisted on location as well as in the
editing room for each segment.
"This really is a win-win situation for everyone involved. It is great experience
for the Double R team and the CAGW gets a wonderful product
to help complete their mission of increased support and resources for arts
and culture," stated Rosemary Reed.
Double R Productions is a full service film, television
and media production company in Washington, DC. Projects include original
programming, public service announcements, video news releases, commercials,
non-broadcast productions for corporate/non-profit organizations and government
