Double R Productions Shows Their Support for Women in The Media

The Double R Productions staff had the privilege of attending the 2008 Courage in Journalism Awards Panel Discussion, organized by the International Women’s Media Foundation (IWMF) and hosted by the National Geographic Society in Washington DC. The panel discussion gave attendees an intimate glimpse into the lives of these brave women journalists. The award winners included:

• Aye Aye Win, a correspondent for the Associated Press in Myanmar

• Farida Nekzad, the managing editor and deputy director of Pajhwok Afghan News and Vice President of the South Asia Media Commission.

• Sevgul Uludag, an investigative reporter for Yeniduzen newspaper in Cyprus.

Since Double R Productions is a woman-owned business, the staff knew that it was important to attend this event. “We wanted to show our respect for these women, whose courage and determination have paved the way for future generations of women in the media.” Stated President Rosemary Reed.
